These guys were great. They have built effects and props that I've used in million dollar attractions. Their efficient use of space is unequivocal. Our group came late Halloween night and they still had all of the energy of a cast working the first day. Will be back next year. Recommend you do the same👍Ps. Please tip as we did. They are making Champaign on a beer budget but clearly need a bigger air compressor. Pss. Love the fridge. Really wish I thought of that back in my haunt days.

This was awesome

I was looking for something to do with son on Halloween that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, when I came across this free haunt. Omg 😲 I can't tell u how awesome it was I have been to a ton of haunted places and this was hands down one of the best. You would not know u were in someone's back yard, u will be hands down scared out of your mind. I don't know how they can top it but u need to check it out hands down

Frightening, Entertaining, Fun but Scary.

This was a really great experience. Exceeded expectations. The videos online do a decent job at letting you know what you’re getting into but does no justice to the feeling of being there. There was a line to get in but it moved quick. Plus they hand out candy while you wait and you are entertained by the kids screaming running out. Lol. You’ll actually hear screams coming down the street. I would not recommend young kids unless you want to be up with them and their nightmares. We overheard one teenager walking away saying he’ll never do that again. I went with my wife and her sister. I believe there’s a part for everyone to get sacred even if that’s not you. It’s sensory overload, in semi darkness. Scares pop out of everywhere. In front of and behind you. It’s confined, creepy, eerie. You’ll be kept on your toes consistently and be out of breath. I thought we were lost. Traps doors, etc. Can’t wait to go again. It’s even better there’s no cost but takes donations to a good cause, so please donate. Really great people there hosting. The house was well set up with one exception! in the cage.... should be a bit easier to see which way to go, I got confused as I thought I was to go through the other door the actors used! other than that well done! Oh don't forget the big front yard tree should get some diffuse lighting in the tree pointing down to light up the decorations there!

AMAZING

This place was phenomenal!!! The characters and maze were full of twists and turns. Never know what is lurking around the corner. This will be a definite new Halloween tradition!!! Thanks for the scares🎃

Hidden GEM!!!!

This house is absolutely AMAZING. For a neighborhood back yard, you don’t go in expecting much right? RIGHT? WRONG!!!!! It’s simply unbelievable what they can do with their back yard, and it’s FREE!!! They collect for charity and it’s WELL WORTH donating. Of course Busch Gardens is bigger, but this is by far better. And many scares packed into it. In my opinion it’s better….the design, the scenery, the layout, the decor…the actors are REALLY good and they use QUALITY costumes. This place is a labor of love, and boy to they love it! I look forward to a few more trips before the season ends!

First time - loved it!!

My siblings and I were looking online for a haunted house to go to last minute and came across this one on the Virginia haunted houses website. Decided to give it a shot since it was only about 15 minutes from us, and I loved how it’s a non profit doing great things for our community. We were not disappointed!!! It was so thought out and had so many different characters. I loved how it had different things in there that you normally don’t see in typical haunted houses - like having to crawl through a fridge lol. This family put together such an amazing experience, and we will definitely be putting this on our list of places to visit every year!!

better than the big boys

had more fun than at the big productions at Busch & King’s Dominion! What they did in their yard is fantastic! we’ll be back next year or maybe another visit this year! AND to top it all off, it’s all for charity!!!

Super Awesome Haunted House

Line looked very long but was moving very quickly. I love how they switch it up every year so you dont know what to expect each time. They put hard work into this yearly and it shows in the production. Great job, highly recommend,

Amazing!!

This haunted house is very scary and all for an amazing cause! Every year house of torment goes above and beyond with new additions. The staff is extremely professional but very fun. They stay in character and follow through until the end. Energy is amazing. I will visit VB house of torment every year!

Neighborhood scare

I visited the VB House of Torment on 10/31/23 and I can really say that it was awesome. The sound effects , the costumes , the maze and the individuals did a phenomenal job. I don’t scare easily but I can honestly say that they scare the mess out of me. Thanks

This haunted house out of someone home was definitely scarier than I thought it would be. They did an amazing job! My kids (5, 10, 12, & 14) ALL loved it and was scared. They want to go back. Great job! Please donate!

Lots of fun and an amazing set up

They did a great job! Very scary. Better than most places you go to spend your money to go get scared.Amazing that this was at a normal house.Worth the time to see all the work they put into this haunted house. Hope they do this again next year.Thanks for the amazing time!

We live just down the street, saw the sign for it and thought we would check it out. We felt silly (as 2 adults) walking up. This was definitely well worth it! A lot of creativity and very well set up. This couple definitely got more than a couple of good scares out of us. Way better than anything we have seen at Howl-O-Scream!

This is a fantastic neighborhood production, highly recommended for anyone in the area but certainly would be worth a trip to check it out! Very thoughtfully designed and full-grown scares, even a mini escape room.

Three entered, one escaped! 🤣. No, we all survived. This was so much fun! Knowing we were expecting to be scared, they still got us a few times. They made the absolute best of their space and you can tell they absolutely love doing this. Can’t wait to see what they do next year!

So much fun!

We were on the hunt for a FREE Haunted House. Spending $29 for a family of 4 to go to Hunt Club was way out of budget. This was so worth it and we would not mind paying to go through this Haunted House again. It started slow and gave us pause at first and next thing you know, at every corner, there was a new scare, lots of jumping and overall great experience. We hope we can come back on Halloween night for Round 2.

AMAZING!!!

I'm glad I attended... It was definitely scary, well put together, and fun for all ages. Hunt Club nor Howl-O-Scream has nothing on this local haunted house of a gem. Thank you to all who participated. The actors never tired or lost energy. You can tell that everyone who was involved truly enjoyed doing what they do for the community.Thank you Totty!

Halloween fun

Our group ranged from 36 years of age all the way down to 10 and everyone's adrenaline was pumping. We can't wait to see what's in store for next year.

We try to go every year.... In my opinion way better then anything they got at Howl O Scream..... Loved it and hes a good friend.... You wont find a better haunted house that is ran from someones personal home

No small children...it will traumatize them for life. No flip flops (someone lost a shoe and did not care to go back to get it). It was about an hour wait but well worth it!!! Can't wait until next year to see what this demented mastermind has stirring up in his cranium.
