Originally part of George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate, Woodlawn was bequeathed to his nephew, Lawrence Lewis, and Lewis’ new bride, Eleanor Parke Custis (Martha Washington’s granddaughter), as a wedding present in 1799. The gift included 2,000 acres of land and the commission of a house which took five years to build. The home is now a museum, and is rumored to be haunted by some of the past residents who lived here over the centuries.

Paranormal activity seen by Adam Faxon and Rafael Cardona

Adam had rented one of the rooms in the attic. Rafael visited one night. While in bed falling asleep, Rafael felt water dripping on his face and woke Adam in suspicion of a ceiling leak. Lights turned on and no evidence of a leak. Went back to sleep just to feel the same thing shortly. Adam turned on the lights. Rafael and Adam did not see any leak however saw small footprints on the ceiling which disappeared. Adam shortly moved out.
