This circa 1830 house is the oldest documented residence in Danville still standing, and was originally used as a home for the city’s first mayor, Captain James Lanier. It is currently being used as a law office and was previously the site of Danville’s first pediatrician’s practice. Visitors to the old building have reported seeing apparitions, hearing mysterious footsteps, and hearing phantom voices.
