Cork Street Tavern
Winchester, VA 22601
Cook Street Tavern has been serving the Winchester area since 1985, but the restaurant building actually dates back to 1827. It is said to be haunted by two ghosts, a woman named Emily and a man named John Mann. John’s spirit has been seen wearing a long, black frock coat, and Emily is often heard calling John’s name. The duo has been known to move objects around the restaurant and will lock a patron in the women’s bathroom from time to time. It has also been reported that every day, upon entering a certain part of the tavern, a female customer will stumble but never fall.
