Thornrose House
Staunton, VA 24401
This 1912 Gregorian-style brick home is now a Bed and Breakfast conveniently located across from Gypsy Hill Park. The scenic location and home-cooked breakfast may be reason enough for most people to stay the B&B, but ghost hunters will find the home particularly interesting. One of the bedrooms, called “Caroline’s Room,” is said to host numerous apparitions.

We chose Carolines Room on October 31st 2015. I did not sleep. We turned in around midnight. My husband was in the shower, I immediately heard a couple of thumps. I did not think much about it until the thumps turned into skipping as if children were in the house. From a few footsteps to half a dozen at times. This went on through out the entire night. I wrote down times and what I had heard. My husband heard most of these as well. He would fall back to sleep but honestly, I was just too scared. We have stayed at many B&B's for our Halloween tradition, by far Thornrose has had the most activity. Beautiful home and hosts but nevertheless, it definitely has activity.
