Southern Virginia University - Real Haunted Place
Founded in 1867 as Bowling Green Female Seminary, the school has undergone several name changes in its time and has been a coeducational liberal arts school known as Southern Virginia University since 2000. One of the women’s dormitories is said to be haunted by the ghost of a young boy who rides around the fourth floor on his bicycle, holding a red balloon. His mother is said to haunt the third floor as well, frantically searching for him and calling for him in the bathrooms. Students have also said that strange sounds can be heard coming from behind a perpetually locked door in the Tower Room.
